La'ie Youth Conference Dance

Turtle Bay Resort tonight welcomed a very special group of young men and young women from the La’ie Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As the sun began to drop beautifully into the vast distances of the ocean with its spectacular purple hues signifying the end of another wonderful day, buses arrived dropping off some 300 young church members ages 14 to 18 years old, all dressed up in their “Sunday Best” attire and ready to enjoy a special evening of dance as the kick-off event of their annual youth conference.

Events during the Thursday, Friday and Saturday conference include service projects in the local community, educational classes and spiritual sessions designed to assist the youth in finding their way through all the challenges that life has to offer. The entire program was planned by the youth themselves and they chose the theme for the dance to be “Show Your True Colors” as a way to ensure that each member stands up for what they know to be the right thing to do.
