Destination Weddings
The latest issue of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons has a special section entitled “Hawaii On Any Budget”. Prominently featured, in print and with a two page spread picture, is Turtle Bay Resort. Here is what they had to say…
“Think of the North Shore as a quieter alternative to the hustle and bustle of cosmopolitan Honolulu. There are no major towns in this big-wave mecca; instead you’ll find beautiful beaches frequented by longtime locals and a handful of luxury resorts. Situated on five miles of private coastline, luxe Turtle Bay was featured in the 2008 flick Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The most romantic digs are the oceanfront Beach Cottages, which feature 15-foot ceilings and private lanais overlooking the water. But the resort has a whopping 447 accommodations running the gamut in price and style from standard hotel rooms to multi-bedroom villas ideal for families. Good news for golfers. Hotel guests get discounts on both the Arnold Palmer and George Fazio courses.
“The Wedding. Have a short lead time? Wedding planner Pura Martinez-Stephen recently pulled off MC Hammer’s vow renewal for the A&E series Hammertime with 24 hour’s notice (though she suggests nine months or more to ensure availability). Turtle Bay combines the holy trinity of Hawaii wedding wishes: sand, surf and sun. Whether you have two wedding guests or 500, it’s easy to customize, thanks to four full-time coordinators, five wedding sites and 15 receptions areas. The most popular ceremony site is the glass-walled Wedding Chapel, set on the rocks above the ocean. Say your vows here before 150 guests then retreat to Bayview Beach Lawn for your alfresco reception. For something totally unique, wed on the 18th hole on the Arnold Palmer Course, where the golf great played shortly after tying the knot in 2005. Site fees throughout are generally waived with a $120-per-person food-and-beverage minimum. Rooms from $264.”
We couldn’t have said it any better!

Our favorite place in the entire world – North Shore and Turtle Bay. And that is why when we married on Nov. 20, 2009 on a beach near Honolulu we came to Turtle Bay to celebrate our wedding night. Even though we were already booked for a week and staying at the Ko Olina Beach Club, we decided we needed to be at Turtle Bay on our wedding night since it was the place where we decided to marry during our March 2009 visit to Turtle Bay. Dinner at the Golf Course restaurant (can’t remember its name) and a wonderful evening watching the gale force wind blow out the surf that was rolling in.
And even though you hear all the jokes about “bird brains”, I believe Ula remembered us from our March visit since she came down from her high perch and had us stoke the feathers on her head.
Thanks again and thanks for the nice bottle of champagne you placed in our room.

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Lei Leis Restaurant (the one you could not remember) is a great place to relax and eat great food. I know that Ula remembers people because I’ve seen it before. We are pleased you chose us for your special night and we hope you will return soon.
