Stay and Bus It!

A great way to enjoy the Triple Crown of Surfing is to stay at Turtle Bay Resort and take the city bus to the contests. That’s what I did and I was able to easily enjoy the opening day of the O’Neill World Cup and the Gidget Pro at Sunset Beach. Check out the details with pictures here.

Giving Thanksgiving

Turtle Bay Resort joined the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station and the St. Michael School in providing a Thanksgiving feast to those in need.

Too Big to Surf

A massive north swell hit the island of O’ahu on November 25, 2009, forcing Turtle Bay Resort to close its beach activities and the Triple Crown of Surfing to cancel its contests. LOST films anyway. Check out the waves in this video clip.

New Carpeting Project

Hawaiian legends abound regarding separated lovers being the reason behind why mountain naupaka petals grow on the top of the flower’s stem and beach naupaka petals grow on the bottom of the flower’s stem. Beach naupaka grows naturally all over Turtle Bay Resort. The flower is represented in the new carpet that is currently being installed. Million Dollar Triple Crown

The winter surf is starting to roll in with its annual fury upon the North Shore of Oahu, signaling the start of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. This year’s purse has hit an all time surfing record of $1,000,000. This year’s final event at Pipeline looks to pit fellow Australians Joel Parkinson and Mick Fanning against each other in a final showdown for the ASP World Title. Comedian Augie T to perform at Turtle Bay Resort Saturday, November 14, 2009. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door or in advance through Turtle Bay’s Concierge. Doors open at 7 pm, showtime is 8 pm.
