Local Night of Celebration
Santa Clause…Reindeer…Snowman…the Grinch…Ukuleles and Canoes? Quite a combination came through the front gate at Turtle Bay Resort this past week.
It all started with a parade. The Kahuku High School Marching Band led the way, playing Christmas medleys to the beat of the drum core. Helping to coordinate the crowds and helping serve refreshments was the Waialua High School and the Kahuku High School Project Graduation 2010, both of which work very hard to keep graduating seniors safe on graduation night.
After the end of the parade, which featured golf carts, sales carts, stables carts and just about every other kind of cart available, each decorated by the various departments that work so hard to operate Turtle Bay Resort (with all with lights and other mechanisms everyone enjoyed), the public came into the main lobby to listen to the sounds of Turtle Bay Resort’s own “Tutu” (grandmother in Hawaiian) and Estrella Larioza, playing ukulele and keyboard while singing yuletide carols, both local and international.
Further inside, past the music and the refreshments, Leilehua High School’s culinary department, along with Turtle Bay Resort’s pastry chefs, provided young and old with an amazing display of three large gingerbread houses, complete with lights and all the décor.
Still past that, in front of the Conference Concierge Desk, anxious children found Santa Clause, as well as a line of artistically designed Christmas Trees; designed by Waialua Elementary School, Haleiwa Elementary School, Sunset Elementary School, Kahuku Elementary School, Hau’ula Elementary School, Ka’a’awa Elementary School and Rainbow Pre-School.
Hula and other entertainment throughout the evening was provided by Namakaaloha’s Hula Studio, located in Haleiwa, Hawaii.
Come in and enjoy the decorated trees, the gingerbread houses and the other décor around Turtle Bay Resort through the Holidays!
