North Shore Big Wave Beginnings
Come join legendary surfer Fred Hemmings & ’60s surf photographer Tim McCullough for a retrospective surf photo exhibit and entertaining “talk story” about surfing’s Big Wave Beginnings on the North Shore of Oahu.
Hemmings was Hawaii’s first world surfing champion, pioneer big wave charger, and founder of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, Pipeline Masters and the world surfing tour.
MuCullough captured many iconic shots of big wave riding greats like Hemmings, Eddie Aikau, Greg Noll, Jack Sutherland and Ricky Grigg. Some of these photographs have never seen the light of day….until now!
Photos on display will also be available for purchase and autograph at the event which takes place Thursday, December 10th, at 7:30 pm in Turtle Bay Resort’s Sunset Room. Admission is Free.
