Pools’ Reconstructive Surgery
Turtle Bay Resort’s swimming pools re-opened December 15th after a week and a half of reconstructive surgery, to the delight of guests, especially the children who lined up and placed their names in a jar, hoping to be the one picked to be the first to ride down the newly resurfaced slide as well. Work began December 6th, as all the water was drained out. The old plaster and tile was removed. New plaster was then placed and new tile laid. The slide was resurfaced as well, leaving it nice and smooth. (New pool pictured right)
To celebrate the re-opening of the pool, staff invited interested guests to place their names in a jar. Resort Manager Tom Cross pulled out the name of the winner, who got to be the first to go down the resurfaced slide (pictured left).
This will not be the end of work on the pool. During this reconstruction, things were put into place to change the purification system from a chlorine based system to a salt water system.
The re-furbished pool looks great. Come check it out!
