Talk Story with Clyde Aikau
Surfer [the bar] at Turtle Bay Resort is honored to welcome a special guest on Wednesday, November 23rd, that needs no introduction to the local north shore community. Surfer will open at 6pm and the “Talk Story” session with Mr. Aikau will start at 8pm. A $5 cover charge is required, but it will be donated to Mr. Aikau’s designated charity.
For those who are not from our north shore, Clyde Aikau grew up on a Chinese cemetery (his father and family were hired to maintain it). He sailed on the Polynesian voyaging canoe Hokulea and he has saved countless lives as a Waimea Bay lifeguard. He has surfed in and won over his lifetime the Makaha, the old Duke event on the north shore and the Eddie Aikau event at Waimea. The Duke Kathanamoku Foundation has named him a “Waikiki Surfing Legend”. Yet with all his massive personal accomplishments, Clyde Aikau is most widely known the world over as “Eddie Aikau’s little brother”.
Come “Talk Story” with renowned surfing legend Clyde Aikau on Wednesday, November 23nd, at the newly opened Surfer at Turtle Bay Resort.
