Talk Story with Fred Hemmings

Football star, Surfing star, Canoe Paddling star, Marathon Runner, Sports Entrepreneur, ABC Sports Commentator and Hawaii State Senator. All these titles adorn Fred Hemmings. Born into very humble and poor circumstances he, through hard work and constant effort on increasing his talents in all areas of life, raised himself to the top of multiple fields.

Come join us at Surfer [The Bar], Wednesday evening, December 28th, to enjoy an evening of “Talk Story” with Fred Hemmings. There will be plenty of pictures on the big screen and plenty of stories of what it was like to surf the North Shore before it was known to the world and what it was like to become Hawaii’s first world surfing champion. Surfer [The Bar]’s doors open at 6pm. The “Talk Story” session begins at 8pm.

The Wednesday night “Talk Story” sessions are hosted by Jodi Wilmott. Born in South Africa to a family on ‘surfari’ from Australia, her family arrived in Hawaii in the early ‘70s. With a father who made surfboards for the top professional surfers of the day and a mother who also worked in the surf industry, Jodi’s development into one of the premier “behind the scenes” promoters of surf in the world today was maybe inevitable.

There is a $5 cover charge…all of which goes to charity. An a la carte food and beverage menu is available.
